About Me
I began my work as a mental health counselor working with individuals from diverse backgrounds who struggle with mood disorders, substance use concerns, severe and persistent mental health concerns and anxiety disorders. I also have experience working with couples who want to learn effective ways to improve their relationship with their significant other(s).
I am an LGBTQ affirming therapist who has both personal and clinical experience working with individuals from this community. As a therapist, I enjoy practicing mindfulness based skills in my everyday life. These are skills that I also enjoy teaching to my clients to help them become more grounded in the here and now and move toward non-judgmental acceptance of themselves. A few things that I enjoy the most about being a therapist includes the ability to experience the flow, playing a meaningful role in the lives of my clients, helping individuals identify factors that affect their behavior (like thoughts, emotions, actions) and overall watching the individuals I work with grow and live more fulfilling lives. It is an honor to be a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and I don’t think I could imagine myself doing anything else.
My goal is to help to empower, increase insight, promote personal growth and overall wellness.
